The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Welcome back!
I'm proud of how far you've come. And in some ways, for many of us, the healing journey has just begun.

Today, I want to talk to you about next steps. Someone once told me that if we want to begin seeing change in our lives, we MUST take ownership over our mind and our inner self-talk. We must take ownership in the areas where we have allowed abuse and projected toxic thought patterns to permeate our being.

We cannot allow toxic voices to rule our life.

If we continue to believe the projected lies, we will never achieve change. Our inner and outer language must change. Our inner and outer mindsets must change. God created all of us with the potential to change the trajectory of not just our own life but lives around us.

We must begin to see that cause and effect in the world and live purposeful, healthy lives. Below I linked some resources that I found very helpful in beginning my positive self-talk and mindset. These resources helped me get out of the toxic grind I had been ingrained with and begin to see parts of me that were gifts that God wanted to use purposefully and powerfully.

Do NOT underestimate the power of becoming healthy.

We may not always see the immediate ripple effect, but it will leave a mark somewhere in someone’s life. Once again, healing isn’t just about us. It’s for the greater good. Healing can often be 2 steps forward and one step back. That is okay. Honestly, that is expected.

We are human beings, and we are complex, and processing and healing is not a linear journey. It is an up-down, up-down, up-down process. We will have mountaintop days, and we will have valley days--maybe even weeks. But at the end of it all, we have taken ownership over our healing.

We will rest and grieve and process, and then we will get back up. We will give it all we’ve got again. Some days giving it all we’ve got is not screaming at the people we love and surviving the hard day. And that is okay, if we don’t allow ourselves to stay in that survival mode.

Healing takes grit.

It takes determination.

It takes honesty.

It takes vulnerability.

And, it takes TIME.

Don’t be discouraged. Have faith. Pray. Hold TIGHT. CLING to hope. Rest. Pick yourself back up. Go again. Loving yourself and those around you by healing is the greatest gift you can give.

Within our healing, we HAVE the POWER to CHANGE OUR WORLD.

What an incredible gift to give ourselves and the ones we love.

Until next time,

Hannah
